Puerto Aventuras Things To Do

Magnificent Marina
A purpose built resort of 900+ acres, this is a huge beach and holiday complex.  Puerto Aventuras’s upscale 95 ship Marina is the only one along the so-called Mayan Riviera: this is a wealthy area and the yachts and boats here are spectacular!

Beaches
Fatima Bay is the resort’s primary beach area; more than a mile and a half of seafront that kicks off in Chac Hal and ends at the Grand Peninsula hotel. Walk the length of the beach a few times and watch the world go by.  Chan Yu Yum is a pretty little bay a bit further north which, while it was built for guests at the local beachfront hotels, is worth a visit for a change of beach scene!

Sport fishing
Puerto Aventuras is a prime destination for sports fishing, one of the best on Mexico's Caribbean coast. If you’re a keen fisherman, you could happily spend your entire holiday at the end of a rod catching some of the most amazing and exotic fish! Unlike nearby Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras is quiet and chilled, with a lovely calm atmosphere.

Eating out
The resort is central so very convenient for a selection of wonderful international restaurants. It is constantly patrolled by security guards and – to put your mind at rest – all the local restaurants use bottled water and purified ice.

Golf
Popular tourist activities include tennis and golf; there are several marvellous courts and a great 18 hole golf course to enjoy.

Shops and Eating Out
At the resort you’ll find a basic selection of shops where you can pick up local arts and crafts, plus there’s a chemist and two small grocery stores. There’s a good choice of places to eat out and even a beach club to entertain you in the evenings.

Cenotes Kantún Chi Ecopark
If you like an adventure, these underground and underwater cavern complex will fit the bill. Great for snorkelling and diving, the Ecopark also includes Mayan ruins and lovely botanical gardens.

Diving
There’s a really good diving centre here for diving and snorkelling fans.

The Museo CEDAM Shipwreck Museum
This fascinating little maritime museum has a collection of treasure; coins, nautical stuff and a whole load of superb artefacts recovered from wrecks under the sea by local members of the Mexican Underwater Expeditions Club (CEDAM).

Swim With Dolphins
How can you resist? Swimming with dolphins somehow makes you feel great. Be at one with nature, mentally refreshed and rejuvenated. The sea here is so beautifully warm!
