Primorsko - a much-loved holiday haven catering for younger visitors Situated 52 km south of Bulgaria’s coastal city of Bourgas is Primorsko, a resort loved by Bulgarians for its scenic 10 km arc of sandy beach. Under communism, Primorsko was famed for the Georgi Dimitrov International Youth Resort Centre (Mezdunaroden Mladezhki Tsentur, or MMC) - a vast campsite - which attracted thousands of communist youth from around the world every summer. Today there are still many trade union hostels, youth hostels and budget campsites, alongside a growing number of hotels and holiday apartments.
Primorsko - enjoy Bulgaria’s warmer southern coastline The Black Sea beach resorts of Bulgaria are divided between the northern resorts - found around the city of Varna (Golden Sands, Albena, Riviera, Rusalka, St. Constantine and Elena), and the southern resorts (Sveti Vlas, Nessebar, Primorsko, Sozopol) near the city of Bourgas. The southern resorts boast slightly higher temperatures. At Primorsko holiday visitors will find sun, sand, beautiful sea views, and a particularly lively nightlife, as the many bars and clubs cater for a youthful, international party scene. Along its beachfront, Primorsko offers shady wooded areas and attractive parklands, dotted with open air cafes and beach bars. Inland the town is quite built-up.
Primorsko - clean beach and Mediterranean temperatures with attractions nearby The climate at Primorsko is influenced by nearby Mediterranean climes. The resort attracts thousands of domestic and overseas holiday-makers between May and October. Primorsko’s beach was awarded the Blue Flag for environmental cleanliness in 1998, so swimming and watersports can be enjoyed with peace of mind. For younger visitors on a budget, Primorsko is ideal as accommodation is affordable and there are many places to eat inexpensively. The world famous Maslen Nos, a dramatic coastal inlet on the scale of a Nordic fiord, is situated 6km southeast of Primorsko. The River Ropotamo is also close by, known for its rare bird and plant life. The pretty and historic village of Kiten is also a major local attraction, 5 km away.
