The Ambience
Port des Torrent is just a short boat, bus or taxi journey - three miles or so - from San Antonio, Ibiza’s noisiest and liveliest town. Though right next door to San Antonio’s relentless party atmosphere, Port des Torrent is peaceful, calm, quiet and marvellously relaxing. It is great for families, couples, older holidaymakers and people who like to be near – but not in the middle of – all the excitement!
Beaches
Port des Torrent is a small, specially built resort with its own very attractive sandy beach. Port des Torrent’s sheltered cove enjoys very shallow waters so it’s safe and child-friendly even for the littlest toddlers. Close by and across the bay you’ll find more stretches of clean, white sand including Cala d'Hort beach, Cala Bassa and Cala Conta beaches.
Entertainment
The resort enjoys a choice of good restaurants, cafes, tapas stands and bars, so you don’t have to go far to find a pleasant, quiet night out. Public transport between Port des Torrent and San Antonio is regular, frequent and runs all day and night.
Watersports
As well as sun worshipping on Port des Torrent’s lovely beach you can pop over to San Antonio to discover a fascinating underwater wildlife area, part of the diving centre. Plus there are two exciting water parks nearby, windsurfing, paragliding, scuba diving, sea cruises and banana boats, glass bottomed boats, parascending and snorkelling!
Shopping
You’ll find plenty of shops for your immediate needs in Port des Torrent, and San Antonio is packed with shops of all kinds: international high street stores and boutiques, supermarkets, jewellery shops, estate agents and much, much more.
Golf
There are two good golf courses a short drive or bus trip away.
On the wilder Side
If you fancy a walk on the wilder side, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the beaches and interior by horse, test your go-karting skills or even have a go at bungee jumping.
Festivals
While Port des Torrent doesn’t have a festival of its own, Ibiza has masses of festivals, or ‘fiestas’. Each village and town celebrates a fiesta every year; businesses close, streets are blocked off and the whole populations parties! There’s food and drink, music, singing, dancing, games, competitions and – usually – a fairground and firework display. Catch a local bus to the nearest fiesta and join the locals in some fun.
Clubs
Ibiza is probably best known for clubbing! The island’s infamous Disco Bus will take you in and out between Port des Torrent, San Antonio, Ibiza Town and Bora Bora to experience world famous clubs like Space, Café del Mar and Manumission… a once in a lifetime clubber’s experience! |
