Weather in Port Aventura Situated on the Costa Dorada just one-hour south of Barcelona, Port Aventura enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers. The Theme Park opens every day from late March until the beginning of November, then weekends and the Christmas holiday period until it closes in early January. The weather makes a visit to the park enjoyable at any time. Even if temperatures do fall below the December average of 14 °C, it is unlikely to spoil visitors’ pleasure, particularly as parts of the Park are under cover. In summer, the average temperature of 28°C makes the water rides even more enjoyable and visitors can enjoy the warm evenings as the Park stays open until midnight.
Port Aventura weather - Plenty of sun, perfect for the Park or beach Sheltered by mountains to the west and washed by the Mediterranean to the east, Port Aventura avoids extremes of temperature. There is plenty of sun, as much as ten hours a day in July, but it is not as hot as the Costa del Sol, making this part of the aptly named Costa Dorada (Gold Coast) an ideal location for water sports and family beach holidays. A sea breeze, particularly in the afternoons, makes the temperature feel extremely pleasant.
Weather in Port Aventura - Pleasantly warm for most of the year There tends to be very little rain in Port Aventura throughout the summer and not too much in the spring. The wettest months are September and October (October sees 96mm of rain, compared with just 27mm in July, the driest month, and 47mm in April), but showers tend to be heavy and relatively short. Temperatures stay warm, even when it’s raining. The averages for September and October are 25°C and 21°C respectively, while April and May are 18°C and 21°C, so although beach lovers will probably prefer a holiday between May and September, anyone looking for the excitement and thrills to be found in the incredible Port Aventura theme park will enjoy a visit at any time.
