Weather in Porches - Mountain village enjoying Mediterranean climate 

The village of Porches lies in the Algarve, between Alcantarilha and Lagoa, and just 40 minute from Faro airport. Situated 5km inland, Porches is located in scenic countryside and is just a few minutes from the region's famous sandy beaches on the Atlantic. The resort sees typically Mediterranean-style weather, and enjoys a subtropical climate. 

 

Summers are hot and dry in Porches, with average temperatures in the peak season months of July and August reaching 28C, and sometimes soaring into the 30C's. The temperature can sometimes be higher in the mountain villages as they do not benefit from the cooling coastal breezes that blow through the beach resorts. The town sees an average of 12 hours of sunshine during this time, and very little rainfall. Spring and autumn is also a popular time to travel to Porches, with temperatures hovering at 20C - 22C in April and May, and remaining as high as 26C in September, with the resort enjoying 9-10 hours of sunshine. 

 

Winters in Porches remain mild, with temperatures during the low season staying around 15C, even in the coldest months of December and January, and the 6 hours of sunshine ensuring that conditions are good for golf all year round.
