Weather in Poovar - Idyllic beach resort in southern Kerala
Poovar lies on the southern coast of Kerala, close to the major tourist resort of Kovalam. Like other regions of India, Kerala enjoys a tropical climate with plenty of sunshine, with the peaceful beach resort of Poovar seeing high temperatures all-year round. The best time to visit Poovar is during the dry winter season, from November to February.

The temperatures do not fluctuate dramatically throughout the year in Poovar, but the weather is determined by the two monsoons that blow through the area. The main rainy season is the southwest monsoon that hits from May to September, whilst the northeast monsoon lasts from October to November. The dry winter season, from November to February, sees the best conditions for visitors, with average temperatures of between 30C - 32C, 7 - 8 hours of sunshine each day, and limited rainfall of around 20mm - 30mm each month. Humidity levels are more comfortable during this time, too, and with the sea reaching 28C, conditions are ideal for relaxing on the beach and taking boat trips. 
 
Weather in Poovar - Southwest monsoon hits in May or June
The southwest monsoon brings wet weather, with the rainfall increasing in April and May, and the temperature rising to 33C, with higher humidity levels. June is one of the wettest months, receiving 282mm of rain, with the rest of the summer seeing over 100mm per month, and October receiving 252mm.
