Weather in Ponta do Pargo - Sub-tropical climate on most westerly tip of Madeira
Ponta do Pargo lies on the most westerly tip of the island of Madeira, and enjoys a sub-tropical climate. With an average annual temperature of 22C, the weather is extremely temperate and the climate is said to be one of the most perfect in the world. The town of Ponta do Pargo is quiet and traditional, and attracts active visitors, including many walkers, hikers and birdwatchers, to this unspoilt western region. 

 

The region sees year-round sunshine, with the temperature during the winter months only dropping by around 4C. Spring sees temperatures of 20C- 21C, a water temperature of 19C and up to 8 hours of sunshine during April and May. July and August see average temperatures of 24C - 25C, with sea temperatures reaching 22C - 24C during the height of summer. Being the most westerly point on the island, a holiday in Ponta do Pargo sees plenty of sunshine but is also affected by the strong sea winds.

 

October sees an average temperature of 24C but more rain, with up to 7 wet days each month, with this increased rainfall continuing throughout the winter months. January is the coldest month in Ponta do Pargo, with an average temperature of 18C, and around 5 hours of sun.
