Beaches
Ponta Negra Beach is one of the most famous in Brazil and it’s not hard to see why - 4km stretch of wide sand with the famous Morro de Careca landmark at the south end of the beach. Ponta Negra Beach is always busy but there is no shortage of other beautiful beaches in the Ponta Negra area.
Excursions and Trips
Travelling around Ponta Negra by jeep or sailing down the coastline is just two of the ways to explore this amazing location. Tours can include trips to Maracajau where you can snorkel beside the amazing coral reefs. Other trips can include one and two day adventure tours by jeep through the Brazilian countryside.
Diving
Diving in Ponta Negra is popular and there is a dive school with lessons available for beginners. The marine life is amazing and the reefs and rock pools are excellent spots for both scuba-diving and snorkelling.
Restaurants
Brazilians love their food and there is no shortage of excellent restaurants in Ponta Negra serving traditional Brazilian dishes. Fish and seafood restaurants are also popular so choose one down by the beach and watch the sun set over the ocean.
Nightlife
The huge amphitheatre is one of the most popular spots in Ponta Negra in the evenings. Regular music events are held there and there are many vibrant bars in the surrounding area. There are also nightclubs such as the Tropical Hotel where the dancing will last until at least 4am.
Natal
Nearby Natal is a vibrant city and has an abundance of shops, restaurants, nightlife activities and of course amazing beaches. November and December are the carnival months and Carnatal is one of the biggest carnivals in Brazil. Don’t miss the folkloric shows and dances that also occur every Thursday night where you can join in with the traditional dancing.
