Not for the faint-hearted, the lively resort of Playa de las Americas is Tenerifes' busiest - attracting the young party crowd looking for fun in the sun. Ideally located along the sunny south-west coast of the island, Playa de las Americas sees plenty of wonderful weather all-year round, with the regions' unique black volcanic beaches offering a haven for sun-worshippers. Sunbathing, water sports, shopping and clubbing feature highly on a Playa de las Americas holiday, and the resort offers plenty of modern and convenient tourist facilities for couples, groups and families alike. Purpose-built and highly commercial, the resort is certainly not for those in search of traditional Canarian charm and local culture, but for holidaymakers looking for an action-packed and reasonably-priced package holiday.

"We always go to Playa, love it as the weather if just amazing whenever we go, and find there is so much to do. This time we went swimming with dolphins which was amazing, and also on a whale-spotting trip. I'd recommend going during the winter - so nice to get away from the cold!"

"Went with the whole family and there was something for everyone. Mainly stayed on the beach with the kids and did the water park, but some of the group did do a couple of trips tho - Mount Teide apparently has great scenery. Los Christianos is also nice for a change"
