Playa de Pals Weather

The Costa Brava is famous for its long hot summers and mild winters and the beach resort of Playa de Pals is no exception. The weather here is typical of the Mediterranean although this area of the Costa Brava will not provide the intense heat found in the south. However, temperatures during the peak summer months will still be around the 30C mark, and have been known to reach higher than this. Rainfall will be a very rare occurrence during the summer months and tends to appear as short rain bursts during the autumn and winter months.

The temperature in Playa de Pals usually begins to head over the 20C mark from mid April onwards and will not fall below this mark until mid October. Holiday makers can expect temperatures of 30C and upwards during the hottest months of July and August. Sunshine levels are high, with an average of nine hours per day during the summer months. The Mediterranean Sea will be the perfect temperature during the summer months for water sports such as diving, swimming and windsurfing. Slightly cooler temperatures of around 23C can be found during late spring and early autumn, which will be perfect for sightseeing trips to nearby Llafranc and Tamariu.

 

The winter months are warm at around 13C and the sun will be out for around five hours per day. There may be a chance of rain at this time of the year but the climate is comparable to a warm UK spring day. At just over two hours from the UK this is the perfect destination for a winter sunshine break to banish those British winter blues.
