Playa San Juan Weather

Playa San Juan lies on the Costa Blanca in Spain, just 15 minutes from Alicante. The resort enjoys a typically-Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers, year-round sunshine, and mild temperate winters. The whole of the Costa Blanca is known for its healthy climate, with Playa San Juan enjoying over 320 days of sun each year, and an average temperature of 23C. 

 

Most visitors going to Playa San Juan arrive during the busy summer months, to bask on the sandy beaches and enjoy temperatures of up to 31C. Early in the season, June sees highs of 27C and an average of 10 hours of sunshine daily, with temperatures rising in July and August, hovering between 29C - 30C, and the sun shining for 11 hours each day. The peak season month of August does see higher levels of humidity, but the coastal breezes help to make conditions seem more bearable. Water temperatures during the summer are warm and pleasant, reaching 24C - 25C in July and August. Rainfall is very limited during the year, with the summer seeing as little as 7mm each month. For those looking to escape the intense heat, spring and autumn are ideal times to visit, when temperatures range from 19C - 24C, and the resort still sees between 7 - 8 hours of sun each day. 

 

Winters are generally mild and dry along the Costa Blanca, with Playa San Juan seeing lows of 16C even in the coolest month of January. Rainfall does increase, but is still limited, with the wettest month of October only receiving 67mm of rain. There is still a lot of sunshine during this time, with December seeing a minimum of 5 hours each day, and this being a popular time for golfers to visit and escape the cold British winters.
