Beach
The Blue Flag Playa San Juan stretches for 7km along the Costa Blanca, and sits in a wide bay just a few kilometers north of the busy town of Alicante. The golden sandy beach has safe swimming conditions, plenty of facilities such as life guards, bars and cafes, and enjoys a relaxing family-friendly atmosphere.
 
Sports & Water Sports
Water sports available include windsurfing, kite surfing and scuba diving, whilst there are many swimming pools and tennis courts in the resort, and a sports centre in Alicante.
 
Boat Trips
Sailing along the Costa Blanca is a delight, and there are numerous yacht clubs in the area offering everything from dinghies to fully-chartered sailboat cruises. Popular boat trips from Playa San Juan include ferry rides to Isla de Tabarco, just south of Alicante.
 
Golf
Golfers can choose from four courses nearby, including the local 18-hole Alicante Golf, with nine courses in the Alicante area. The guaranteed sunshine, warm climate and scenic landscapes makes the Costa Blanca a haven for golfers.
 
Walking & Hiking
The Sierra Aitana offers many hiking trails and paths, with superb views of the Mediterranean and the chance to stumble upon hidden mountain villages dotted amongst the lush green hills and valleys.
 
Mountain Biking
The typically mountainous terrain appeals to avid cyclists, and the area has plenty of routes that extend along the roads and country trails that span the region. 
 
Horse Riding
Riding is a very popular activity, and, with a number of schools and stables around, there's plenty of opportunity for all levels of rider, from beginners' lessons to day-long rides and mountain treks.
 
The Town
The Old Town of San Juan lies just a couple of kilometers inland, and has several historic sites to tour, such as the 17th-century church and a number of monasteries including the Monastery of Santa Faz, said to house a piece of cloth used to wipe the face of Jesus.
 
Day Trips
Alicante is a bustling Spanish city with great shopping, dining and sightseeing, whilst Benidorm is nearby and offers a wealth of entertainment options, such as Terra Mitica and Mundomar. Smaller towns to visit include Campello, Villajoyosa, Javea, Calpe, Altea, Moraira and Albir.
 
Fiestas & Festivals
The Bonfire of San Juan on 24th June is a major celebration, with fireworks, parades, bullfighting and concerts, whilst the town gathers to celebrate Santo Cristo de la Paz from September 12th - 16th.
