Holidays in Playa del Carmen are generally relaxed and fun, with nightlife to suit everybody, from cocktails on the beachfront to live music played late into the night at the many bars. The restaurants in Playa del Carmen are mainly located on Quinta Avenue and offer a wide choice of varied food, and feature different international foods, including Italian, French and Thai. Most visitors to Playa del Carmen take trips to explore the many Mayan ruins found here, with the most popular being Tulum and Xel-Ha, just 45 minutes away, and the eco-archaeological park of Xcaret, with its’ host of activities, is just next-door. Golfers are well-served in Playa del Carmen, with the championship golf course at Playacar.
