Platja d'Aro Weather

Located in central Costa Brava, just 25 miles east of Girona, Platja d'Aro is a modern beach resort which enjoys a typically-Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters. With a long stretch of sandy beach and extensive tourist facilities, Platja d'Aro attracts holiday-makers looking for guaranteed hot summer weather and the chance for fun in the 9 hours of daily sunshine experienced in the peak season.

 

March and April see warm weather in the resort, with highs of 15C - 17C, and good conditions for outdoor activities and sports, such as golf and tennis. The temperature rises in May - reaching 20C - and by June Platja d'Aro enjoys highs of 24C, rising to 28C in July and August, with just moderate humidity levels. The waters on the coast hover around 25C, meaning ideal temperatures for swimming and water sports during the hot summer months. Rainfall is at its lightest in the summer, with the busy period from June to September receiving 40mm - 55mm each month. Night-time temperatures during the peak summer season remain around 17C, meaning pleasant weather for enjoying leisurely outdoor meals, and for exploring the extensive entertainment and nightlife scene.

 

Winters see increased rainfall, with the wettest months of October and November receiving 175mm - 188mm each month. Temperatures remain mild, with the coolest months of December to February dropping to 13C, and still experiencing 5 hours of daily sun.
