Phuket Things To Do
Phuket Beaches
Few holiday resorts can boast of better beaches than those on offer in Phuket. Patong is the most famous beach and has a wide variety of activities and nightlife making it an ideal place to play and party. The quieter beach of Kata, is a more popular choice with families due to its crystal clear waters and white sands.
Bangla Road
A stroll down the infamous Bangla Road in Patong is definitely an activity for the more open minded tourist, but if you are looking for both an enjoyable and entertaining night then this is the place to be. Famous for its raunchy nightlife, Bangla goes all out to entertain with girls, beers and music. Jammed most nights year round, it's a lively place to walk around as bars compete for customers.
Phuket Temples
The temple of Wat Chalong is one of the most significant in Phuket, and is visited by thousands of tourists every year. The dazzling reflection from the infinite tiny glass pieces that decorate it make it a sight to behold, whilst its interesting history and spiritual core will ensure you have a fascinating experience upon your visit.
Waterfalls
Phuket may not have the largest waterfalls in Thailand, but they certainly make an ideal place for a cooling swim on a hot day. Ton Sai and Bang Pae are the two biggest in Phuket, and both can be found Khao Praew Thaew National Park, which is just a short journey north of Phuket Town. The waterfalls are best experienced during the monsoon season which runs from May to October.
Muay Thai
Muay Thai boxing is growing in popularity across the world. An exhilarating sport to watch, a visit to the Saphan Hin Stadium in Phuket will enable you to see first-hand, the discipline, extreme fitness and mental strength held by these well-trained martial arts experts. Although a dangerous contact sport, Muay Thai is a sport of honour and makes an excellent spectacle.
Big Buddha
Visible from most of the south of Phuket, the Big Buddha is a recent arrival to the island and a towering monument which is a focal point for tourists and Buddhists alike. Standing on top of the Nakkerd Hills, the 30 million baht Buddha stands next to a smaller brass statue and looks down over Chalong, Kata and Rawai.
