Petrovac Weather
Weather in Petrovac
Petrovac enjoys a coastal Mediterranean climate with mild winters and long, hot, dry summers. The town nestles in a sunny valley almost in the centre of the Budva Riviera on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast. Over a third of the Riviera’s 22 mile length consists of sandy beaches which enjoy almost 300 days of sunshine each year and are washed by a clear blue sea that reaches 21°C to 25°C in summer. A holiday in Petrovac is a superb destination for those looking for a beach or water sports holiday, and an ideal base for exploring the sparkling Montenegro coast and unspoiled interior.
Petrovac weather – Hot and sunny without being too hot
In July, visitors can expect 12 hours of sunshine each day and very little rain. Although summer temperatures can reach around 30°- the average high in July/August is 29/28°C - the weather rarely gets uncomfortably hot thanks to the sea breeze and the shelter from the olive and pine trees that fill the town and surrounding area. Petrovac is also perfectly placed for an escape into the coolness of the mountains. In winter the mountains of the Durmitor National Park offer skiing from December to March, but in Petrovac there should still be 3 or 4 hours of sunshine to make sightseeing enjoyable and temperatures similar to spring in the UK.
Weather in Petrovac - Clear blue skies and clear blue sea for most of the year
July and August are the busiest months here but there’s plenty of warm, sunny weather and average high temperatures above 20°C from May to October. The chances of the odd damp day will be higher in spring and autumn, but the Petrovac countryside is extremely lush and beautiful, and as well as the olives and pines, there are all kinds of exotic flowers and trees brought back by returning sailors, and the area looks particularly attractive after rain. June and September are likely to be pleasantly warm without the high season crowds and prices. But whatever the time of year, Petrovac is a stunningly beautiful destination.
