Ancient Sites
If you are visiting the Peloponnese it offers travellers a genuine taste of Greece and is rich in cultural sites. Walk among the ruins of the Gods: Athens - the capital city, Delphi - site of the famous oracle of Apollo, & Olympia - sanctuary dedicated to Zeus, site of the ancient Olympics. The Peloponnese hosts many ancient Greek and Roman remains, Venetian castles and Byzantine palaces to explore.

Epidaurus Amphitheatre
Epidaurus is one of the most important ancient sites in Greece, with an almost perfectly preserved amphitheatre built 2,500 years ago and still hosting Greek dramas today. The World Heritage listed site is located at the eastern end of the Peloponnese 62 kilometres south of the Corinthian Canal. You can get tickets to watch a tragedy or a comedy play at this theatre which is an amazing experience.

Beaches
The best beaches are in the southernmost stretches of the region. You'll find nice sand and clean, warm seas in and around Methoni, in Messinia, and on the little island of Elafonisi. The Mani also has some good sand beaches, especially at the tip of the peninsula, at Porto Kayio and Marmari, near Cape Tenaro. Methoni and Pylos are the best-equipped resorts for windsurfing, sailing, and other water sports.

 
Mani
Mani is the central peninsula of the three which extend southwards from the Peloponnese in southern Greece. Mani is mountainous and has spectacular views.  If you want to get away from the beaches and experience some nature and fresh air this is the place to visit. Being slightly cooler in the summer here, it’s an ideal spot for some relaxing in beautiful surroundings.

Cafes and Bars
There are so many cafes and bars dotted all along the coast of the Peloponnese and also inland. Sample excellent Greek food in the tavern restaurants, Greek salads, sovalaki (pork) and fresh olives! The seaside restaurants will cook local fish and local dishes, but you will also have a variety of different restaurants catering for all tastes.
