Peloponnese Holidays - Land of myths and mountains
The Peloponnese is a holiday destination for people who enjoy history and culture as much as they do beach relaxation. Few places on the planet can offer both elements in such glorious abundance as the Peloponnese region, the southern, ‘three-fingered’  peninsula of mainland Greece. Here you will be amazed at the beauty of the beaches, offset against spectacular mountain scenery, and a host of ancient Greek and Roman remains, Venetian castles and Byzantine palaces to explore. The Peloponnese is served by Kalamata airport, north east of the region’s central Mani peninsula.

Holidays in Peloponnese - Visit ancient Olympia for the holiday of a lifetime
The Peloponnese offers travellers a genuine taste of Greece, both ancient and modern. Its cultural zenith has to be ancient Olympia, situated within the Peloponnese's north western Messinia region. This is the birthplace of the Olympics and an extremely important archaeological and mythological site. Visitors marvel at the vast Temple of Zeus, the villa of Nero and of course the ancient Olympic stadium that dates back to the 5th century BC.
Beautiful Mediterranean resort towns such as Kardamyli and Stoupa are also found along this arm of the Peloponnese offering accommodation of all types and of course there is no shortage of welcoming tavernas and bars. At Voidokilia is a magnificent horseshoe bay which is well worth a visit. These resorts are within easy reach of Kalamata airport.
Meanwhile on the eastern side of the Peloponnese is Corinth - home to Roman ruins and the earlier iconic Temple of Apollo. Sparta in the heart of the region, dates back to the Neolithic era, and was the scene of the warring Spartans. Today you can see ruins of ancient temples and theatres from Roman times.

Peloponnese Holidays - Villages come alive at night
