Water sports
The Pelion peninsula boasts many clean and beautiful beaches, especially on the east coast, with a multitude of water sports available for those looking for something more strenuous than lying on the beach. Choose from jet skiing, sailing, diving, canoeing, water-skiing, wind surfing and fishing.

Sailing and boating
Take to the seas and sail the blue waters of the north west Aegean. Travel around the Pelion peninsula, whilst enjoying views of the mountains and coastline, or visit the neighbouring Sporades Islands, such as Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos. 

Walking
With an abundance of cobblestone paths, tracks and trails, the forest-clad mountains of Pelion offer a haven for walkers and hikers. With routes running through charming villages and reaching scenic beaches, there are trails for every level, each taking in the stunning wealth of nature and spectacular views along the way.

Horse riding
As well as hiking through the majestic mountains and countryside, the hidden delights of Pelion can also be explored on horseback. Ideal for those looking to get off-the-beaten track, horse riding is an excellent way to discover the natural beauty of the area, with many organised treks and tours available.

Steam train rides
Step back in time and enjoy a leisurely ride up Mount Pelion aboard the historic steam train, which passes through olive groves, past charming mountain villages, and over a series of impressive bridges, enabling passengers the chance to relax and enjoy the spectacular coastal views. 

Festivals
The many local villages in Pelion hold their own summer festivals, or 'panygiria', with plenty of live music, drinking and dancing taking place in the town squares. There are many other cultural events which take place throughout Pelion including greek and foreign music concerts, exhibitions and theatre performances.
