Holidays to the resort of Patalavaca Patalavaca, located on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria, is a quiet resort perfect for those who are looking for a relaxing base, yet close enough to the major coastal towns with all their facilities. Sitting just 10 minutes from the vibrant Puerto Rico, and south of Puerto Mogan, the resort of Patalavaca is regarded as enjoying some of the best weather on the island, and considered one of the best areas on Gran Canaria for deep-sea fishing.
Quiet and relaxing holidays in Patalavaca The south west coast is notoriously rugged, comprised of spectacular cliffs, which get progressively steeper further up towards the north. The beaches of the area are set amidst deep coves, and at Patavalaca there are a couple of sandy beaches in and around the resort for visitors to use, with facilities such as sun beds and umbrellas, and beach bars and cafes serving much-needed refreshment. The pace of life in Patalavaca is slow and unhurried, with a number of large hotels and apartments providing comfortable accommodation. A harbour in the resort offers boat trips along the coast and deep-sea fishing is widely available in Patalavaca. Neighbouring Arguineguin is an original fishing village, now developed into a major tourist area, which has managed to retain its’ authentic charm, and the two resorts are linked by promenade. The picturesque harbour at Arguineguin is a great place to watch the fishermen bring in the catch of the day, and from here a ferry service runs to along the coast to Puerto Rico and Puerto Mogan. Arguineguin is also home to the largest weekly market on Gran Canaria, which is well worth a visit.

The resort is known as ‘Spanish Little Venice’, with its’ plethora of sea channels, connected by bridges, and is home to attractive low-rise white-washed buildings, a traffic-free centre and flower-adorned streets.
