The island of Paros, like the rest of the Cyclades, enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with holidaymakers benefitting from the long hours of sunshine and high temperatures. Sitting in the middle of the Aegean Sea, the islands' central location in the Cyclades means it is prone to the strong winds of the "meltemi" which are most prevalent during the height of the summer.

Spring in Paros sees temperatures of between 16C - 20C, with the months of April and May being ideal for those looking for milder weather, when the island is not too crowded. June sees temperatures rise to 23C, with July and August becoming significantly warmer, with average highs of 25C and 26C, sometimes reaching over 30C. During these months the strong north wind tends to blow across the island, especially over the north and west coasts, helping to temper the intense heat with regular cooling breezes. Due to the strength of these meltemi winds on Paros, the island boasts ideal conditions for wind surfing, with international tournaments regularly held here. Rainfall is virtually non-existant throughout the summer.
Paros weather - Rainy yet mild winters
Autumn on Paros sees cooler temperatures of around 19C, with the island beginning to close down in October, the start of the rainy season. During this time precipitaion levels reach an average of 180mm, which rises to almost 400mm in December, the wettest month of the year. January and February are the coldest months, with temperatures dropping to an average of 12C, and the island in general seeing a mild winter.
