Our review of Paros...
The second largest of the Cyclades islands, Paros is a quieter option than its livelier neighbours, Mykonos and Santorini, attracting many to its shores with glorious sandy beaches, traditional villages and breathtaking scenery. Despite its natural beauty and peaceful character, the island has a well-developed tourist trade, offering plenty in the way of hotels, apartments and villas, with its coastal resorts home to a wide choice of dining and nightlife options to cater for the summer trade. Ideal for families and those looking for a true Greek experience with a good range of facilities, Paros is also a good choice for those wishing to escape the beach and explore the islands' natural beauty, such as walkers, hikers and cyclists. Due to its central location in the archipelago right in the path of the strong "meltemi" summer winds, conditions on Paros are notoriously good for windsurfing, with the island regularly hosting the PWA World Cup Championships.

"We were looking for a get-away-from-it-all holiday and that was exactly what we got! Nothing is too touristy on Paros, and although there is lots to do and some parts are lively, it still feels really unspoilt and very Greek, especially where we were in the resort of Naoussa. "Paros was ideal for couples we thought. There is nightlife here but it's not too crazy. Lazy days on the beach - we liked Kolimbithres the best - and evenings spent choosing a taverna and sitting watching the world go by. Wonderful seafood and all the local specialities such as moussaka and souvlaki, plus lots of retsina. Perfect.."

"All in all I'd say Paros is a good bet for families. Our apartment in Parikia was simple, clean and ideally placed and we visited the beach most days, which was really good for the children and kept them busy (and us relaxed!) We found lots of things to do and I'd recommend a trip to the water park, and a day inland - we went horseback riding - stunning views."
