Diving in Paphos Diving in Paphos. As you would expect of an island surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, diving in Paphos is very popular. The island does not have any dangerous underwater currents and is excellent for beginners and experienced divers. The Tomb of the Kings The Tomb of the Kings in Paphos is one of the most popular and impressive tourist attractions. This World Heritage site dates back to the 3rd century BC and is a warren of underground tombs and chambers. You will need at least two hours to explore this historic site of stone stairways, Doric columns and seven tombs.
Sightseeing If you let it, sightseeing in Paphos can take up most of your holiday. There are numerous historic and natural sights to see such as the Adonis Falls near Kamares village or the always popular, Baths of Aphorodite. You can easily spend a day wandering around the sprawling archaeological site of the Ancient City of Pafos, and of course a visit to the spectacularly colourful mosaics of the House of Dionysus is a must.
Beaches There are some fine beaches in Paphos where you can practice an array of watersports including surfing, snorkelling and swimming. Coral Beach is a well-developed stretch of sand and there are several different stretches of this beach to explore. The beach near Latsi is known as Petra tou Romiou and boasts the added attraction of the magnificent Aphrodite's Rock.
Hiking Hiking in Paphos affords you the chance to see some of the areas traditional villages. The pretty villages of the Akamas Heights and the Kathikas village are an oasis if you want peace and relaxation and they also give you the chance to sample some traditional food and superb wine.
Nightlife The nightlife in Paphos is quite diverse. You can enjoy the ex pat dominated pubs along the seafront or go for the more romantic little tavernas further inland. There are also more than a few sophisticated late night bars and nightclubs where you can dance all night while drinking the local, and very strong, Zivania firewater.
