Panormos Holidays – Relaxed small village resort
Panormos is a small unspoilt village with pretty streets in the middle of the north coast of Crete, 14 miles east of Rethymnon and 36 miles west of Heraklion airport. Holidays in here are popular with couples and families seeking a small resort with a good beach and an adequate amount of bars and tavernas without the action of the bigger resorts. The village has picturesque narrow roads and has an attractive hillside setting.

Panormos Holidays – Good beaches and relaxed nightlife
Panormos beach is in fact two separate sandy beaches. The main beach is quite sheltered from the wind by the small harbour. The second beach is equally good and is a short walk to the west of Panormos. Both are normally uncrowded and have shallow water good for swimming. Watersports like windsurfing and diving are available. Nightlife here is based around an appealing mix of friendly good-quality tavernas and bars, some found around the small harbour and others in the winding narrow streets in the centre of the village. Panormos has local shops and tavernas and a much bigger selection can of course be found in nearby Rethymnon, one of the largest and most interesting towns on Crete. Visitors to the area can enjoy Rethymnon, with its charming and picturesque Old Town full of fountains, archways, colourful balconies, romantic tavernas, and a great selection of cafes, ancient remains, Venetian architecture and plenty of street life and nightlife. Regular buses take around half an hour from Panormos.

Holiday in Panormos – Appealing village and pretty valley
Panormos visitors will enjoy an appealing characterful village and some beautiful surroundings. Panormos has a small river and is surrounded by a pretty agricultural valley and rocky mountains. A small train visits the farthest parts of Panormos beach and local ancient sites and the medieval castle ruins above the village. Excursions include the Minoan Palace at Knossos, boat trips and three interesting historic towns, Chania, Rethymnon and Heraklion.
