Weather in Panjim - Hot tropical climate in Goa's capital city
The capital city of Goa, Panjim sits on the southern banks of the River Mandovi in North Goa. Like the rest of the state, Panjim experiences a hot tropical climate, and sees high temperatures year-round. The city is affected by the monsoon that sweeps through the area every summer, bringing wet weather and slightly cooler days.
Panjim Weather - Peak season is during the dry winter months
The best time to visit Panjim is during the dry winter months, from November to March, or at the end of the monsoon season. November sees daytime highs of 32C which remain constant throughout the winter months, as do the pleasant night-time highs of 21C - 23C. There is limited rainfall during November and December - between 14mm - 23mm - and no rain at all in January or February, with a high but bearable level of humidity. There's plenty of sunshine in Panjim during the winter, between 9 - 10 hours each day.
Weather in Panjim - Monsoon hits in June, plenty of rain and cooler days
The humidity level begins to rise in March and remains extremely high throughout April, May and June. May sees an increase in rain - with 50mm falling - and a relief from the hot humid weather with the onset of the monsoon. By June the city can experience a dramatic 800mm - 900mm of rain, with between 200mm - 500mm falling from August to September. Sunshine hours drop to 4 - 5 hours from June to August, with the late summer days often good for sightseeing, with cooler temperatures of 29C and shorter periods of rain.
