The region lies between the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, and enjoys long hot summers, and warm sunny days with lots of sunshine during the spring and autumn months - ideal for activities such as golf, walking and sightseeing.

The Costa Brava is a year-round destination, however most visitors flock to holiday in Palafrugell during the spring and summer when the weather is warm and dry, to explore the coastline and relax on the region's stunning beaches. Temperatures in May hover around 16C, with up to 9 hours of daily sunshine, and then rise in June, averaging at 22C. The hottest months are July and August, which see average temperatures of 24C, but they can rise to over 30C some days. The sea temperature is a pleasant 22C during this time, ideal for swimming, water sports and boating. Summers are dry in Palafrugell, with July seeing as little as 23mm of rain each month.
