Weather in Ovacik - A wonderful Mediterranean climate
One of the areas that makes up the popular tourist resort of Olu Deniz, Ovacik is a mountain village that sits on a plateau of the lower slopes of Mount Babadag. Located on the southwest coast of Turkey in the Dalaman region, the area boasts a wonderful Mediterranean climate, with long hot summers and mild winters, and attracts visitors throughout the long tourist season. Thanks to its elevated position at an altitude of 450m, Ovacik enjoys the benefits of some cooling mountain breezes, which serves to make conditions slightly more bearable than down in Hisaronu, or the beach at Olu Deniz, especially during the very hot summer months.

Ovacik Weather - Mountain village, cooler than down on the beach
A scenic base for a cheap holiday in Olu Deniz, Ovacik experiences a long hot summer, with temperatures a few degrees cooler than down on the beach. The mountain air offers relief when the sun is at its hottest, and the refreshing breezes help to temper the intense heat. Humidity is high, and there is extremely limited rainfall during the summer, between 5mm - 11mm each month, in the form of light showers. Ovacik sees abundant sunshine throughout the summer months, with the resort experiencing up to 14 hours every day, meaning plenty of time spent sunbathing on the beach or just relaxing by the pool. It's a great time to experience one of the area's famous Blue Cruises, on a traditional wooden gullet, thanks to the wonderful water temperature, which reaches 27C along the coast. Night-time temperatures hover around 15C - 18C in Ovacik, with warm dry evenings ideal for al-fresco dining and evening drinks.
