Our review of Ovacik...
The small village of Ovacik offers a quieter and more relaxing base than its livelier neighbour, Hisaronu. These two villages have combined to create the main resort base for the stunning beach at Olu Deniz, which lies just 4km away, and have transformed from sleepy mountain towns to form a major commercial centre. Ovacik is spread out along the valley below Mount Babadag, with a good selection of small hotels and apartments, and a few shops and restaurants. For more nightlife and more extensive shopping, visit the more developed town of Hisaronu, just 5-10 minutes away. A holiday in Ovacik boasts a more peaceful and rural atmosphere, with stunning views and good access to Olu Deniz beach by frequent dolmus, and would suit families and couples looking for a calmer and more relaxing base for their holiday.

"We have been going to Ovacik for the last few years, as we love its location - right in the mountains, but we can get to the beach and all the restaurants really easily. It's great for a complete get-away-from-it all holiday and there are so many places to visit - we like Dalyan, and Patara Beach for a change from Olu Deniz, which can get quite busy."

"There are lots of hotels in Ovacik, and it would suit those needing a bit of peace and quiet. It was a bit too quiet for us, but we could get to Hisaronu for the shops and bars. It was really pretty though, and the hotel owners were so friendly - they gave great recommendations for us to do. Try the boat trip from Fethiye around the bay (great for snorkelling) and paragliding - if you dare!!"

"Ovacik is the best place to stay as far as I'm concerned, as it is peaceful with a more traditional feel. The sunsets from our hotel were amazing, and sometimes we didn't even go down to the beach it was so relaxing. The whole region has something for everyone - day trips to the ancient ruins, nature walks such as the Saklikent Gorge and endless beaches and villages to discover. And Turkish food is just the best in the world! All in all you can't go wrong, and all for great value for money!"
