Historically Ouarzazate is famed for its central Taourirt Kasbah, stunning Palace of Glaoui, fascinating old Jewish quarter and traditional shops selling beautifully made Moroccan rugs.
Ouarzazate Holidays - explore desert, valley and beyond
While on holiday in Ouarzazate visitors typically book onto desert safari trips, or hire four-wheel drives to explore the spectacular valley scenery along the Draa River, which lead into the desert. Many roads out of town will quickly take you to past ruined Kasbahs, remote villages and big sky scenery. Famously atmospheric Tiffoultout Kasbah is 8 km out of town for example. Ouarzazate has its own public swimming pool and it’s also possible to hire mountain bikes in Ouarzazate. Thanks to its airport, Ouarzazate is extremely well connected for trips to Agadir, Casablanca, Marrakech with flights to these destinations typically twice or three times weekly.
