Olhos d'Agua Things To Do
Beach
The beach at Olhos d'Agua is ideal for families, with gently sloping sands and a host of rockpools to play in, and a convenient promenade boasts many facilities for visitors. There are numerous hidden coves to discover, with other quieter beaches to head to in the area including Praia Maria Luisa and Santa Eulalia.
Water Sports
For the more active visitor, the beaches offer windsurfing, waterskiing, jet-skiing, snorkelling and scuba-diving.
Boat Trips
Olhos D'Agua is still a fishing village, with colourful boats dotting the sands, and visitors are able to enjoy sea-fishing trips, as well as scenic coastal boat rides along the gorgeous coastline. Dolphin-spotting trips are also available.
Golf
A haven for golfers, there are numerous options for a leisurely round in the famous Algarve sunshine, from the local Balaia Golf Village, to the championship courses at Vilamoura and Vale Do Lobo.
Sports & Leisure
Hotels and apartments offer facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, volleyball and fitness centres for guests, with go-karting and ten-pin bowling available close by.
Countryside
The countryside of the Algarve shows visitors a very different side to the coastal resorts, with horse riding available near Olhos d'Agua, and off-road jeep safaris on offer, heading out off the beaten track.
Dining
This small traditional village has a number of good restaurants, best known for their local fish and seafood, and serving up simple regional dishes such as grilled sardines and cataplana clams. There are plenty of places to eat down on the seafront, with stunning views out across the Atlantic.
Day Trips
Zoomarine, on the outskirts of Albufeira offers fun for all the family, with its amusement park, Marine Park and zoo, as do Aqualand, Slide and Splash and Aquashow waterparks, all within easy reach for a day trip.
Local Towns
Just 15 minutes away is Albfeira, home to a picturesque old town, and a host of shopping, dining and entertainment options, with resorts such as Vilamoura and Praia d'Oura also close by. Lisbon is an interesting day trip, with its bustling city streets and historical sites.
Festivals
Olhos d'Agua hosts the local Sardine Festival in August, which features plenty of fresh fish cooked on the beach, and a range of entertainment, such as live music.
