Oia also has a much quieter nightlife scene than Fira though there are a couple of places to dance, along with a good range of restaurants, tavernas and cafes. Oia – Steps down to volcanic sandy beaches
The port of Ammoudi and a couple of beaches are reached by winding staircases that drop steeply down the reddish cliffs. Holidays in Oia have the choice of two pleasant volcanic black sandy beaches directly below the town, both reached by stone staircases from the village: Ammoudi 214 steps and Armeni 286 steps! Here you will find a couple of tavernas and boat trips to Thirasia. Sandy Baxedes beach is around the headland to the north. While on holiday in Oia visit the famous vineyards and wineries as well as the interesting maritime museum.
