The coastline around Nova Sancti Petri is amongst the most beautiful in Andalusia, with the resort lying next to the 8km stretch of fine clean sand of Playa la Barrosa – a constant recipient of the European Blue Flag award. The beach is a mixture of rolling sand dunes, coves and cliffs, and combines developed tourist areas backed by bars and cafes with wild and unspoilt stretches. Opposite the resort is the island of Sancti Petri, accessible by ferry (or on foot at low tide), and is the site of a lighthouse, and an 18th century castle built on the ruins of a Roman temple. The resort of Nova Sancti Petri is perhaps most well-known for its’ 36-hole golf course, famously designed by Seve Ballesteros, which boasts a driving range and four pitching and putting greens, all accompanied by stunning views.
