North Goa or South Goa Weather – Ideal for a winter holiday
Situated in the south-west of India, Goa is the smallest (in area) Indian state and weather does not vary a great deal between North and South Goa. Both coasts are washed by the gentle, warm waters of the Arabian Sea, which remain around 28-30ºC all year round. The high season for both is from mid-November until late March, when average temperatures are a little over 30ºC and the humidity isn’t too uncomfortable. Indeed, the weather is perfect for enjoying beach parties or flea markets in the North or lounging on deserted beaches or visiting colonial mansions in the south.

Weather in North Goa or South Goa – Holiday paradise destination
Visitors are unlikely to notice any difference in weather between the North and South coasts, although the North is often a degree warmer and has slightly higher humidity. Differences between the coast and inland are far more marked. Away from the coast temperatures are hotter without the cooling sea breezes, while hill and mountain regions are cooler with more rain. With Goa’s beaches being the state’s main attraction, perhaps it comes down to: do you like beautiful sun-drenched beaches with lots of life (the North), or beautiful sun-drenched beaches that are a little quieter (the South)?

North Goa or South Goa weather – Beautiful, even during a tropical monsoon
North and South Goa’s tropical climate can bring violent storms from June to September. But attractions such as the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries stay open, and the dramatic Dudhsagar Falls, near the Mollem National Park, will be at their most spectacular. These are in North Goa, but can easily be reached from the South. The North is slightly wetter – with perhaps as much as 24 days with some rain in July, compared to 18 in the South. But if you are prepared to brave the storms, temperatures remain around 30ºC, and both North and South Goa have plenty to offer at any time of year.
