Nissaki Holidays
Nissaki Holidays – An established quiet relaxed resort
Nissaki is on the north-east coast of Corfu, 14 miles north of the capital, Corfu Town and the airport, with views across the sea to Albania and across the bay to enticing Corfu Town. This resort will appeal to those looking for a small and relatively quiet resort in a beautiful setting; Nisaki is set on the steep pine and olive grove-covered foothills of Corfu’s highest peak, Mount Pantokrator. The town is protected from the noise and bustle of some of its famously lively and more downmarket neighbours. Holidays here are an established favourite with couples and families looking for an attractive, traditional small resort in which to relax; a place where not everything is given over to tourism. Nissaki has a few tavernas and local shops and the nightlife is very modest in comparison with its neighbour Barbati, and a world away from the full-on partying youth resort of Ipsos just a few miles down the coast.
Holidays in Nissaki – For romantic secluded coves
Nissaki beach, or rather beaches, are small coves of sparkling white shingle, excellent for scuba-diving, with clean clear water ideal for swimmers. A favourite beach is at Skinos, several hundred metres further along the coast. The beaches are away from the road and are blessed with both sloping and shallow areas for bathing, a water sport jetty and boats for hire. Walkers and bathers enjoy Nissaki holidays for its protected and secluded position and its relatively unspoilt romantic feel despite its reputation for beauty and its popularity as a day trip destination for boats and yachts. A little effort on the coast path is rewarded with the discovery of further secluded rocky coves. Hiring boats is a popular activity, with beautiful Agni Bay a favourite destination.
Holidays to Nissaki – a quiet resort close to livelier neighbours
A break here has the option of visiting other much livelier resorts if charming Nissaki gets too sedate, or you are with teenagers with the mood to party. Barbati and Kaminaki can be reached on foot and Kassiopi and Ipsos are short trips away by car. For a complete contrast you could explore some of the charming traditional Corfu villages in the surrounding hills. There are regular buses to Kassiopi to the north and to Ipsos and the fascinating capital, Corfu Town to the south.
