New USA Travel Guide Released

Washington based Small World Publications have produced and distributed 1 million issues of new USA travel guide ‘Discover America’. It is hoped the guide can help the US make up some of the 36% loss of international tourists since 1992. With large colour photographs, a wide-open format and versions available in English, French, German and Italian.

Discover America aims to regain market share by firstly focusing on Europe. The guide, which is being distributed at travel shows and travel agencies throughout Western Europe, has been well received, with Brian Hughes, Chairman of Visit USA – Ireland commenting on the popularity, “they were the fastest moving brochure at our stand at the Limerick Holiday Show".

Discover America is surprisingly the only publication promoting the US travel product as a whole and should have a positive effect on European holiday trends in 2007. The European market currently makes up 29% of the USA’s international visitor count which currently stands at 14.2 million with the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy ranking in the top ten.
