However, summer weather in Negril can be very pleasant with plenty of sunshine. Summer is the easiest time to find cheap holidays in Negril. Cloudy days are extremely rare at any time of year as rainfall is usually in short heavy downpours.

Jamaica’s rainiest months are May and October and then June and September. The good news is that the rain is at its heaviest in the mountains and the east coast. Negril is on the western tip of Jamaica. Negril rainfall is usually short and heavy, and can be very atmospheric. Negril weather also benefits from the resort’s slightly sheltered position, avoiding the worst of the winds. The summer is the hurricane season in the Caribbean but Jamaica receives far fewer hurricanes than Caribbean neighbours like Cuba.
