The Neapolitan Riviera - From Naples in the north to Paestum in the south
Neapolitan Riviera is located on the western coast Italy and is a region offering stunning natural beauty, dramatic mountains, white washed towns and a rugged coastline. The name “Neapolitan Riviera” refers to the stretch of holiday coast from Naples in the north to Paestum in the south and includes the islands of Ischia, Capri and Procida.

The Bay of Naples has volcanic beaches, friendly cafes. Sorrento is a maze of narrow alleys with lots of bars and fantastic restaurants. Steep steps drop down the hillside to pebble beaches and bathing platforms. Amalfi is a working fishing port. Postiano is packed with cafes and boutiques and restaurants. Mature couples may prefer to holiday in the smaller resort of Maiori, which offers authentic Italian restaurants with a few of bars and a picturesque promenade.

Pompeii, buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 is the region’s top sightseeing attractions. The 30 mile drive by a narrow and twisting road between Amalfi and Sorrento is possibly the world’s most beautiful sightseeing routes with picturesque villages clinging to the steep cliffs and breathtaking views out to sea. The coast is known for excellent food. The pizza was invented in Naples and is made here in a wood burning ovens. Local dishes include Spaghetti Alle Vongole.
