The island sees some strong breezes throughout the summer, from the Meltemi winds that blow from the north, creating ideal conditions for wind surfing.

June sees the beginning of the summer weather, with temperatures around 23C and the island receiving 11 hours of sunshine every day, ideal for relaxing on the beach and water sports. In general, summers in Naxos are cooler than other Greek islands, with July and August seeing an average temperature of 25C, sometimes reaching highs of 28C, and the humidity remaining moderate. The winds help to keep the temperatures down, and do provide relief during the hottest months. Springtime and autumn is a delightful time to visit Naxos, with temperatures ranging from 17C - 20C, and the sun shining for up to 6 hours a day. A green and mountainous island, Naxos boasts wonderful conditions for walking, hiking and cycling and the months of April and May are an excellent time to enjoy these activities.
Weather in Naxos - Mild winters, with some rainfall
Winters in Naxos are fairly mild, with temperatures during October and November ranging between 17C - 20C. The coldest months are January and February, with lows reaching 13C on average, sometimes dipping as low as 7C. From June to September there is virtually no rain at all on Naxos, and in the winter the rainfall is fairly infrequent. December and January see the most rain, with an average of 12 rainy days a month. During the winter, Naxos still receives an average of 3 hours of sunshine every day.
