Naples lies on the southwest coast of Florida, and enjoys an ideal location on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. The city experiences a warm year-round climate, with the abundance of Florida sunshine making it a haven for fishing, boating and golfing. Conditions are best for visitors during the winter months, when the average temperature reaches 24C and the days are dry and sunny, with little humidity.

Winter temperatures in Naples are very warm, with December to February seeing average highs of 24C and at least 7 hours of sunshine each day. Days are generally dry during the winter season, with the region seeing between 30mm - 60mm of rain each month. The sea temperature dips down to 21C in February, with the Gulf of Mexico still warm enough for swimming in the winter, thanks to its constant averages of 22C - 24C. Evening temperatures can drop however, with December to February sometimes seeing average lows of 12C - 13C at night.

There is high humidity in Naples during the summer, with uncomfortable levels experienced from July to September. Temperatures can reach up to 33C, and there is plenty of sunshine - as much as 10 hours each day. June sees the start of the rainy season, receiving an average of 238mm of rain, with July to September experiencing between 200mm - 220mm each month. Most rain occurs in the afternoon, when heavy but short-lived showers can bring intense thunder storms with plenty of lightning. October sees a dramatic reduction in rainfall, with around 90mm falling during the month.
