One of the best-rated hotels in Tigaki, the 3-star Mythos Apartments certainly lives up to its hype. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the town, but provides easy access to both the beach and a range of restaurants and taverns. Popular with families and couples, the Mythos boasts an attractive pool area with good sized pool, a lovely shaded poolside bar and a taverna at the front of the hotel which faces onto the street. Rooms here are spacious and contemporary, with tasteful neutral colours and light wood furnishings, as well as plenty of natural light.

 

The Mythos Apartments complex is situated just back from Tigaki’s main road in a quiet, peaceful location. A beautiful sandy beach is around 100m away, and a number of shops, bars and restaurants are found a few minutes from the hotel. Tigaki is one of the livelier resorts on Kos’ north coast; however make no mistake – this is still a relaxed, laidback town more suited for those after a relaxing beach holiday then a hedonistic clubbing break. Those after a vibrant club scene would be better suited to Kos Town or Kardemena. Not say that Tigaki is completely dead; there are a few bars that open till late should the mood take you. Restaurants and taverns are scattered along the main road and beachfront. Popular excursions include heading inland to the charming Asfendhiou villages; a settlement of authentic Greek hamlets nestled in the countryside next to a forest, and the ‘Tomb of Harmylos’; an ancient Hellenistic burial chamber.

 

Accommodation at the hotel consists of 39 modern, attractive studios. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Studios sleep up to 2 adults and come with twin beds, as well as a sea view. One bedroom apartments sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children and come with separate twin or double bedroom, a lounge area with child bed and bunk bed and also have a sea view. Two bedroom apartments sleep up to 5 adults with one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a lounge area with a sofa bed. All rooms are fitted with a kitchenette with 2 cooking rings, microwave and fridge, air conditioning, TV, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace. A daily maid service cleans the rooms, with linen changed twice a week and towels as needed.

 

The Mythos Apartments provide all you need for a fantastic holiday in the sun. There is a decent-sized pool and surrounding sun terraces that are kept immaculately clean. A poolside bar serves snacks and refreshments, with a shaded terrace complete with comfortable wicker armchairs to relax on. Alternatively, guests can enjoy drinks at the Taverna Vassilis which is attached to the front of the hotel and looks onto the street. Meals can be taken on-site at Vassilis restaurant and there are BBQ facilities. There is occasional weekly entertainment in the form of a quiz night and Greek BBQ. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, kid’s pool and cots for infants.
