Morocco Weather Morocco has a variety of climates which can be simplified as Mountain, Coastal and Interior. Visitors looking for beaches and water sports will find that the north and north-west coasts are superb in summer, while south from Agadir is perfect for a beach holiday anytime, with warm winters (the average temperature in Agidir in January is still over 20°C) and not too hot summers thanks to the cooling sea breezes. Inland, the weather varies greatly from region to region, allowing the visitor to experience snow in the mountains and the heat of the desert in the same day.
Weather in Morocco - From sunny beaches to snow-covered mountains Away from the beaches, the best time of year to visit Morocco depends on the individual and the chosen area. April to September is best for trekking and other activities in the mountain regions. In the Middle Atlas region, Ifrane has over 11 hours of sun each day in June and the temperatures are a pleasant 24.8°C. Even in August when it’s a little over 30°C, it is possible to enjoy the shade in the surrounding cedar and cork forests. The Middle and High Atlas mountains have ski resorts with snow from December to March. Morocco’s interior enjoys a continental climate with very hot, dry summers and cold, damp winters. The best time to visit here is March to May or September and October as the summers can be uncomfortably hot - Marrakech reaches 38°C - and snow can make exploring the countryside difficult in winter, although it is a pleasant time to visit the towns.
