Montego Bay Things To Do
Seek Adventure
Montego Bay is perfect for those seeking adventure. For active holidaymakers, there are river excursions and exciting white water rafting down the Great River. In addition to this it is possible to venture into the beautiful rainforest amongst the cool mountains, allowing you to discover the real Jamaica.
Swimming with Dolphins
One of the most sought after and fascinating experiences can be enjoyed at the aptly named Dolphin Cove in Half Moon. Not only can visitors watch and swim with these charming mammals, but you can also spend the day learning to be a dolphin trainer.
Doctors Cave
The most famous beach in Jamaica has crystal clear water fed by warm mountain springs. The beach is named after a bathing club founded in 1906 by a group of physicians. Today, the bathing club is sadly no more but the magnificent beach still remains with inviting water temperatures of between 22°C and 28°C. It was claimed some years ago that the waters have healing powers – something which only served to increase its popularity amongst travellers.
Pirate Cruises
A holiday in Montego Bay serves as an ideal time to experience life as a pirate on the seven seas. Visitors can venture along the Jamaican coastline aboard an old sailing ship, taking the same route patrolled by famous Caribbean pirate Calico Jack. Here you can bask in the sun and snorkel in the Bay whilst hearing tales of a Calico Jack and his infamous female pirates.
AguaSol Theme park
One for the whole family, a day out at the AguaSol Theme Park can take in a range of fun activities including the MoBay 500 go-karting track, tennis courts, restaurants, evening entertainment, water sports and much more. Of course, for those with less energy, the large white sanded beach provides the perfect setting for a relaxing day.
Bob Marley
Despite the fact that Jamaica’s most famous son lived in Kingston, the legendary reggae star is celebrated in Montego Bay with the Bob Marley Experience, a complex containing original memorabilia and a theatre which screens a special film about the life and times of Bob Marley every hour.
