Monarch Airlines is to drop its FlyMonarch.com URL in the coming months and instead direct traffic to a new site, Monarch.co.uk as part of a larger campaign taking place this year. The site switchover is expected to take place in the next few months, following an extensive advertising campaign to announce the change, promote cheap flights and service level promotion.
Monarch, winner of the 'Airline of the Year - Leisure' award at the 2007 Travel Trade Gazette awards will undertake poster campaigns large cities throughout the UK as well as close to its major hubs, Luton and Gatwick. A Monarch spokeswoman said: “The site will remain as FlyMonarch.com although the customer facing brand/domain name will change to Monarch.co.uk with a view to migrating to the new domain in the near future.”
The news comes just after Monarch announced it was strengthening its network from London Gatwick and Manchester, with the launch of three new scheduled routes for summer 2008. Monarch flights from London Gatwick to Larnaca and Menorca and from Manchester to Larnaca launch from March.
