Maspalomas Beach
The beach in Maspalomas is certainly spectacular; the Atlantic Ocean is surrounded by six km of golden sand dunes, some of which are 10 metres high. You take a trip on one of the lines of camels crossing the dunes, and the eastern end of the sands is an official nudist area. The coastline from Maspalomas to the nearby resort of Playa del Ingles is one long stretch of golden beach.
Theme Parks
Children and adults will love the various theme parks in Maspalomas. From the replica wild-west town of Sioux City where numerous films have been shot, to the carnival rides at Holiday World where you can ride the rollercoasters or watch the sea lion show. There are more than enough attractions here to keep you entertained.
Aqua Parks
Ocean Park in Maspalomas has all the slides, chutes and thrilling water rides you could wish for. There are also arcades, video games and numerous places to grab a bite to eat after you have finished splashing around between the waves. You can also head to Aqua Sur; the largest water park in Gran Canaria that boasts several swimming pools.
Water Sports
As you would expect from a beach resort there is no end to the amount of water sports in Maspalomas. You can try your hand at wind-surfing, jet-skiing, snorkelling, deep sea diving, sailing and body-boarding.
Nightlife
The nightlife in Maspalomas can be as busy or as quiet as you like. There are plenty of colourful bars, open air discos or quiet local pubs to choose from. You can also take your pick from the many cafes and restaurants serving superb international or traditional cuisine.
Sports
If you love sport then Maspalomas has a fantastic range to choose from. Golf is very popular and there is a course with spectacular ocean views located between Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles. You can also try your hand at tennis, hiking, para-gliding and rock climbing.
