Maritim Hotel Weather

There is no distinct rainy season in Mauritius although rain does occur throughout the year, peaking in the hot winter months of December and January. Coastal areas are hotter than the higher altitude inland areas, so if you plan to head inland expect cooler temperatures. Occasional cyclones occur in Mauritius during winter, hitting the island with varying strengths around 3 to 4 times a year on average. Cyclones can last up to three or four days at a time - a small risk worth bearing in mind if you plan to visit at this time.
