The islands of Malta and Gozo are situated in the Mediterranean, to the south of Italy and north of the coast of Libia. The Maltese archipelago consists of five islands in total Malta, Gozo, Comino and two uninhabited islands Cominetto and Fifla. Holidays in Malta and Gozo have long been popular with visitors from the UK, perhaps due to our shared history. Great Britain took possession of Malta in 1814 and The Island supported the UK through both World Wars and remained in the Commonwealth when it became independent in 1964. Ten years later Malta became a republic. English alongside Maltese is the official language.

Victoria, the main town on the island, has a peaceful 17th-century atmosphere. There is a view from the Citadel, across the entire island.
