Weather in Malta
The Maltese Islands are set in the heart of the Mediterranean with a climate that is heavily influenced by the surrounding seas.  Malta's summer months are hot, dry and very sunny with temperatures peaking at around 31C in August. Malta and the nearby island of Gozo have very stable climates year round and begin to heat up in April with little rain during the summer season between April and August. Malta lies between Southern Italy and Africa so the climate is very similar, and is also comparable with Southern Greece.  The high daytime temperatures are cooled down by sea breezes that also affect Italy and Greece but Malta is usually drier due to the short sea distance of the African coast.

During the summer months Malta averages around 12 hours of sunshine per day, which makes it perfect for sunbathing on the island's many beaches. The clear Mediterranean waters are warm enough for a range of popular water sport activities. Scuba diving and snorkelling are very popular due to the clarity and warmth of the waters but every imaginable watersport from paragliding to water-skiing is popular on beaches such as Paradise Bay and Mellieha Bay. The stable year round climate means that you do not have to wait until the summer months to take a holiday in Malta and many families head to Malta during the Easter holidays.

Weather in Malta - Little rain and constant sunshine makes for the ideal winter break
The winter season on Malta is very mild, temperatures very rarely fall below 15C and still hit the 20s in October and November for around seven hours per day. There are a few thunderstorms during the winter months but rainfall is very low on Malta with only 600mm annually, and snow on Island is unheard of. The mild climate during the winter months means that you can easily achieve a suntan but also go further inland and sightsee in comfort.
