Water Sports
With its warm waters and sunny climate, Malta is a haven for water sports, whether you're looking for fun family activities, mastering individual skills or action-packed speed. Most beaches and lidos have facilities for watersports, with some of the most popular including banana boat rides, jet-skiing, canoeing, kitesurfing, water skiing, paragliding, wave sailing, and the well established sport of windsurfing (Malta is a regular host to international windsurfing competitions).

Sailing
Maltas' location in the middle of the Mediterranean, together with its great weather, make sailing a popular option, with many enthusiasts choosing to travel around the coastline, discovering the many hidden bays and sheltered coves of the island. Whether you are looking to charter your own vessel, get expert tuition, or enjoy just a leisurely cruise, Malta offers plenty of choice.

Diving
Beginners and certified experts alike will delight in the extensive diving available around Malta, with the warm clear waters around the island home to an abundance of marine life. With plenty of cliffs and bays, and numerous fascinating reefs, caves and wrecks, there's plenty to explore under the sea.

Walking and hiking
Rich in dramatic scenery and stunning views, the terrain on Malta is ideal for walking, hiking or rambling, especially during the cooler spring and autumn months. There are plenty of guided walks, and many ancient trails and paths taking in a variety of landscapes, from lush valleys full of wildflowers and plunging cliff faces, to historical sites and traditional medieval villages.

Horse Riding
Explore the island on horseback, whether it's spectacular coastal views or unspoilt countryside you are looking for. Malta has several riding stables and schools, offering excursions and lessons, and the island is home to a horse racing track and the oldest polo club in Europe.

Golf
Home to a historic course, golf is a popular activity on Malta, with the climate and the islands' scenic backdrop adding to the games' enjoyment. The best time to play golf is from the autumn to the spring, with the winter months seeing pleasant warm and sunny days.

Maltese festas
Throughout the year Malta hold many 'festas', a time for celebration and spirituality, which show tourists some of the islands' strong culture. These social events see entire villages come together and are a culmination of months of planning - featuring traditional food and drink, processions, concerts and lively firework displays.
