Weather in Malindi - Hot tropical weather in the Indian Ocean
Malindi is located in East Kenya, and enjoys an enviable position sitting on the Indian Ocean coastline. The climate is tropical with plenty of sunshine, with the sun shining in the beach resort of Malindi for at least 7 hours each day. The peak tourist season in Malindi is December to March, with January and February being the most popular time to visit.
 
Weather in Malindi - Great winter destination, hot sunny days
From December to February, Malindi sees relatively dry hot weather, with an average temperature of 27C, and 9 hours of sunshine each day. Rainfall is limited during January and February, with just 10 - 14mm of rain seen during these months. The sea reaches an average water temperature of 28C. The temperature heats up in March and April, rising to 28C, with more rainfall falling - up to 171mm - and the sea temperature rises to a very warm 29C. April to June is the rainy season, with May being the wettest month, seeing almost 300mm. October to May sees very high humidity in Malindi, but the resort's coastal position means that the sea breezes help to temper the heat, and to make the humidity and high temperatures seem more bearable.  
 
Weather in Malindi - Cooler summers, lower humidity
July and August see the coolest weather, with an average temperature of 24C, but still see plenty of sunshine - between 8 - 9 hours each day, and increased winds. Humidity levels are at their lowest from June to September in Malindi, and the average temperature in the sea is still a very pleasant 26C.
