Malcesine holidays - Pearl of Lake Garda
A family holiday, or romantic break for two at Malcesine, on the north east shore of Lake Garda can’t fail to delight. This picturesque resort  is often described as ‘the pearl of Lake Garda’ and it’s easy to see why. Malcesine features a quaint harbour, a pretty shingle beach, medieval and Venetian architecture, and the dramatic peak of Monte Baldo rising up behind the town, not to mention the cool, sparkling waters of Lake Garda itself. Malcesine has a superb setting with an excellent range of accommodation, dining, and watersports amenities. Hotels here typically provide top quality, locally produced food, children’s facilities, pools, evening entertainment and excursions. Verona Airport is a manageable 45 km away.

Holidays to Malcesine - Conquer Monte Baldo
An obvious pursuit if holidaying at Malcesine is to walk or mountain bike up Monte Baldo. There are well marked trails to choose from, and plenty of bike hire options. If you’re not feeling too energetic the Malcesine cable car will whisk you to the top, but if you do go by foot, you’ll encounter some lovely Alpine restaurants along the way. Back down in town, exploring Malcesine harbour can be fun, particularly as local artists gather here to sell their work, and you can lunch at one of the may tavernas or pizzerias. Malcesine is an ancient town, and the intricate cobbled streets are great for leisurely exploring and shopping. From the harbour you can take hydrofoil or ferry trips to neighbouring towns, or enjoy an evening stroll as the harbour lights come on.

Fun family holidays to Malcesine
Based at Malcesine you can fill your days sunbathing, playing tennis or mini-golf, wind or kite surfing, or taking out a pedalo. Many of the hotels feature attractive gardens and lakeside terraces - ideal spots for a morning coffer or late lunch. In the historic centre of Malcesine the streets are coloured with cascading flowers, lively shops and bars and restaurants. A major feature is the ‘Castello’ a thirteenth century turreted castle, and the Palazzo dei Capitani. If you fancy venturing further afield from Malcesine, a trip to Verona - the city of Romeo and Juliet, and home to an annual opera festival - might suit.
